New communications training courses for 2020

New communications training courses for 2020

If improving your communications skills is one of your 2020 New Year’s resolutions, I have an opportunity for you.

I’m looking to develop a series of training sessions to help people hone their communications skills – and I’d like some feedback on my ideas so far.

The plan is to provide low-cost, convenient training that gives you the tools you need to make your communications activity more effective.

You might be a small business owner or creative entrepreneur who has limited experience handling a communications plan. Or, you could be a communications pro in the early stages of your career looking at ideas for putting all that theory into practice.

The courses would talk through some of the big ideas behind strategic communications and give you a toolkit of tricks, templates and models so you can tighten up your communications activity quickly.

Here are the five courses that I’m proposing to run:

How to do a communications audit a practical guide to reviewing your existing communications and marketing output and creating an action plan to improve it.

How to write a communications strategy – using the SOSTAC model to create a communications strategy that sets out your objectives, how you’ll achieve them and how you’ll measure your results.

How to write a PR strategy – a step-by-step guide to defining your PR objectives, creating a media target list and identifying the PR techniques you can use to increase your profile.

How to profile your customers – identifying who your customers are, what interests/concerns them and where they get their information so you can reach them in the right places with the right messages to encourage them to choose you.

How to create a content marketing strategy – an introduction to creating better content that includes defining your content objectives and identifying the best channels for your business, plus lots of free resources to help you get started.

I’d love to know what you think about these courses and how you’d like to access them.

Complete this tiny survey of just five questions to tell me your thoughts.

And, if you whack your contact details in at the end you’ll be the first to hear about the courses when they’re up and running.

In the meantime, head to the bottom of my website for loads of blog posts on ways to make your communications activity more effective.
